Location: 100% remote from within or outside the U.S.
Classification: 1099 independent contractor
Pay Range: $2,000 – $2,500 per month
Expected Hours: 40-50 hours/month
How you’ll make an impact:
The Contracted Accountant collaborates with the Chief Financial Officer, internal stakeholders, and external accounting firms to ensure the smooth-running of our financial operations. As the company is growing quickly, you’ll also play an integral role in defining and scaling our financial structure. The ideal candidate combines analytical prowess, effective communication, and a passion for education to deliver financial insights to guide strategic decisions and contribute to our mission.
What you’ll do:
- General Accounting and Reconciliation
- Maintain the general ledger and perform other accounting duties as assigned
- Prepare and perform account reconciliations
- Make recommendations to optimize the company’s accounting procedures and detect inaccuracies
- Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare financial statements on a monthly/quarterly basis
- Support with revenue projections and forecast expenditures
- Audit and Compliance
- Assist with financial and tax audits
- Make recommendations regarding accounting processes and policies to strengthen internal controls
You may be a good fit if you have:
- a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Expertise in Quickbooks Online, Microsoft Excel, and Google Suite
- 5+ years of general accounting experience in a US corporate setting
- Working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP principles
- Strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Growth mindset and motivated by constructive feedback
- Proven ability to work independently, manage schedules, and meet deadlines
- Highly motivated, proactive, and seeks opportunities for continuous improvement
- High standards of integrity and transparency
- Access to a computer/laptop (with camera) and reliable high-speed internet connection
