MiaPrep Online High School (MOHS), our online private high school using our virtual curriculum from www.miaprep.com, was formed in August 2022, and accredited as an online private high school for grades 9-12 in June 2023. Our ability to work with the curriculum development team, as well as the software development team, provides a unique opportunity to create a superior learning experience for students.  

It’s an exciting time to join MOHS – the first year’s cohort consisted of 80 students, and the second year consisted of 320! Miaplaza’s leadership intends to maintain a high year-over-year growth rate for the foreseeable future with the goal of reaching more than 10,000 students within the next 5-10 years. This includes the goal of developing a strong international presence.

Lead the future of online education as the Vice President of MiaPrep Online High School. In this key role, you’ll drive our entire online high school business, reporting directly to the CEO. Your leadership will shape the school’s strategic direction. As a crucial member of our leadership team, you’ll inspire and direct our faculty, fostering an environment of innovation and excellence. Your expertise will be vital in scaling our operations, refining our educational framework, and empowering our students to achieve high levels of success. This position offers an opportunity to significantly impact online education and make a lasting difference in students’ lives.

What you’ll do:

Business Management & Strategic Growth

  • Strategic Growth: Develop strategies to attract and retain a diverse student body. Work closely with the admissions team to set enrollment goals, oversee marketing efforts in the US and internationally, and ensure a smooth admissions process
  • Operational Efficiency: Manage the business operations of the school, in particular the challenges related to fast growth
  • Financial Stewardship: Direct the financial strategy of the school, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. Ensure optimal allocation of resources to support educational objectives and long-term sustainability

Student Success

  • Academic Vision: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of the school’s effectiveness in achieving its educational goals and mission
  • Data Analytics: Develop and execute a framework for the strategic use of data; support the team in using student and staff performance data to drive improved teaching and learning
  • Collaborative Leadership: Collaborate with cross-functional partners to maximize our ability to support students’ academic and individual development

Hiring and Team Leadership

  • Hiring Prioritization: Anticipate and strategically plan for future hiring needs, making choices in the recruitment and onboarding of staff that align with the school’s mission
  • Professional Development: Oversee leadership staff in the planning and executing of professional development opportunities for teachers and team members
  • Continuous Improvement: Observe school leadership regularly and create a system for timely and relevant feedback across the school

You may be a good fit if you have:

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree (required)
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience, with 4+ years of leadership or management experience in a business setting
  • Experience in a senior position at a private school
  • Experience in analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and solve problems
  • Demonstrated success in leading both managers and individual contributors, including setting ambitious goals, providing constructive feedback, and developing strategic growth plans
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic start-up environment, managing multiple priorities while driving clarity and solutions
  • A track record in effectively planning and managing organizational change
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining efficient operations across an entire business
  • The ability to create, monitor, and maintain systems that enhance organizational efficiency
  • A track record of building strong relationships through exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to personal and professional growth, with a history of embracing and acting on constructive feedback
  • High standards of integrity and transparency
